About Robolawyer

Robolawyer came about from years of advising over 1,500 startups and small business owners on corporate and commercial legal matters, seeing what they struggle with and thinking that there must be a better way to help them get their business legal work done.

The common thread amongst almost all of those startups was that law is a big wall that's 'impenetrable'. We don't see it that way.

Yes, law is difficult. But it should not be inaccessible. A good understanding of the law is crucial for the growth and future of your business. Sure, you can engage a lawyer to do it all for you, but wouldn't you rather understand what is required of you and then be able to do it yourself?

We designed Robolawyer to make the law accessible. From experience, we know how legal processes work and the patterns that can be automated effectively to business owners the ability to do this work themselves. We are deeply passionate about not only empowering business owners with professional grade tools, but also educating them along the way so that they feel confident that every decision taken is an informed decision.

Robolawyer doesn't take technology and look for a problem to apply it to. We work the other way. We know the problems faced by business owners and we utilise the appropriate tech deliver the best solutions for them. This means we don't rely on AI or other trends and fads; instead, we respect the traditions developed and followed by the legal profession and make them usable by everyone.

Our goal is that by using Robolawyer you'll not only be able to get your legal work done quickly, correctly and at a fair price, but you'll sleep well knowing that you actually understand your business and its legal affairs.

Our values

No mediocrity tolerated.

Everything we put out is rooted in a deep understanding of the law, the process and the technology we've built. We will never put out anything substandard or that we are unhappy with. We will always strive to ensure correctness, accuracy and to be better than everyone else.

Promote empowerment and education.

We don't believe in gatekeeping. The legal system should be accessible to everyone, not just the select few who have the means to pay for it. We're not just providing software. We never want our customers to just leave with a bunch of documents. We want them to leave (and come back) with a deep understanding of their legal situation.

Our customers come first.

Our customers value transparency, fair pricing and assurance that the work they need done has been done properly. Everything we do is in service of these outcomes. We don't want our customers to feel like they've been ripped off or had a bad deal, or that they're still confused. Legal stuff always feels burdensome. We want to remove that burden.

The founders

Zarek - Legal & tech

I qualified as a corporate lawyer in London in 2009 and I operated a small legal practice for about 10 years advising startups on everything tech and corporate. Doing this work made it really clear not only what the common patterns were but also the level of friction and lack of understanding of the legal process for my clients.

After a while it became obvious to me that there was a better way of working. I've always been a programmer and I became obsessed with using software to simplify and optimise these processes. More and more I would integrate automation into my practice to help me and my clients get work done faster, smarter and more cost effectively - and my clients loved it.

It became clear that my helper scripts and programs should form a single product. That's when I decided to pack up my advisory work and focus solely on making awesome software that would serve clients better than I (or any other law firm) ever could alone.

Aiman - Ops & quality

I'm a data professional who's worked at several large financial institutions in London. I was heavily involved in large scale software integration, adoption and quality assurance projects. I learned first hand how software products failed to meet the expectations and the needs of their end-users. In the end, most software was left unused - a big waste of time and money.

I wanted to work on a project that truly adds value to peoples' working lives. My focus within Robolawyer is to really understand our customers, their needs and problems and help to translate these into solutions within our software. My strengths are simplifying what's complicated, knowing what's irrelevant, and ensuring that the important stuff gets done.

Simplicity and quality are the most important things for me. As a business owner and founder myself with a family and young kids I know how stressful and difficult this work is. I would love to make it as stress free as possible for others like me.

And that's us.
(Yeah, we're married).
