Questions?

No. The prices shown above are for the entire matter, from start to finish. This is regardless of the number of documents required or the number of people involved. You are able to make as many changes as you wish and take as long as you need to complete the matter.

The only additional cost that may arise is if you require tailored legal advice. This is something that we can discuss during our initial consultation. If you do need tailored legal advice, you will be given a fixed quote for that work too.

Our prices are extremely competitive when benchmarked against similar services provided by commercial law firms and other legal software providers.

Preparing documents is just one element of getting business legal work done. Robolawyer does that, but it also deals with the other elements: ensuring that the documents created meet your specific goals and are legally correct for your objectives, sharing the right versions of the documents with the correct people and giving them instructions that relate to them, helping you deal with incoming comments and negotiations, and managing the completion process.

We've taken years of experience advising hundreds of startups to come up with a streamlined and fool-proof way to get through the entire transaction process with minimal friction. Given this, we don't think it costs that much at all!

Our matters are designed to be self-serve. We have come up with an incredibly simple way to get the key information from you that is needed to build out the documents required to close your matter. Our documents are drafted in plain, clear, modern English with no legal jargon or unnecessary wording. As an intelligent and highly capable business owner you should have absolutely no problem reading through them and understanding what they mean.

However, we appreciate that some business owners may want some tailored legal advice throughout the process. This might involve trying to come to appropriate terms at the early stages, or trying to understand what a particular clause means when reading the documents, or needing to know why something has not been specifically mentioned or covered.

To help with this, we offer a separate advisory service alongside each matter. This is something we can discuss in more detail during your initial consultation. If you do require this, the fee will also be fixed and we will quote you for the specific scope and type of support you need.

No. Once you have purchased access to a matter you can take as long as you need to close it.

Business owners tell us they find it challenging to even identify a suitable lawyer who can advise on startup matters, often resorting to Google and picking one of the top results. We are experts in advising startups and small businesses on corporate, commercial and technology law.

While some lawyers offer free consultations, most commercial firms will charge for an initial discussion. Firms will then typically quote on the basis of the projected number of hours it will take to deal with your work. This quote may be fixed, but is often simply an estimate - meaning that once you get started with them, you will be obliged to continue with them. Our solution makes it clear exactly what you will be getting for your money.

When it comes to getting the work done, there will usually be quite a bit of back-and-forth between you and a lawyer while the initial terms are ironed out and the matter progresses. Each lawyer works differently so it's difficult to say how easy or difficult that experience might be. With Robolawyer the experience is the same every time - and there's no need to talk to anyone or worry that the next email you send will result in a £150 bill just for being read.

No. By comparison, other legal software providers may charge extra depending on the number of people investing in a company, or they may operate on a sliding scale charging you a percentage of the amount you are raising. Our fees are transparent, fixed and reflect the value you receive from using a self-serve platform to carry out this work.

You will talk to an experienced business lawyer during the initial consultation who will be able to assess whether your chosen matter is suitable for your objectives. If it's not, we will let you know so you don't waste any time or money on it.

Yes. The purpose of our initial consultations is to introduce ourselves and get to know you and your business so that we can assess whether or not our self-serve packages are suitable for your needs. We do not want you to waste time or money. There will be no sales talk here; it's strictly about you.

Our pricing is based on the value you receive and deserve as a small business owner. We want you to be able to sail through common legal matters without having to pay for a junior to learn on the job or for work that is carried out frequently by the majority of small businesses.

Through years of advising startups and small business owners on this work, we've been able to spot the common patterns and extract them into repeatable and simple processes that you can easily understand and follow through on your own.

Each matter is then priced fairly based on the type of work it involves and the scale and complexity of the law involved and the documents required to get it done correctly and rapidly. We do not charge on a per-document basis or on a percentage of your deal's value.

No. We charge a fixed one-off fee that is paid fully in advance of commencement of your work.

Yes. We do not charge a subscription fee for ongoing access to your company model or completed matters. The small cost of this is built into our fixed pricing.

No. We do not charge any subscription fees for access to our platform or any matters.

We can discuss this during your initial consultation.

No. Our platform covers the entire process and is rule-based, following the same procedures and practices used by real lawyers.

While an AI model may be able to give you some generic advice about what is required to close your matter, the prompt you provide defines the output it will give you. For small business owners, the common thread is that you don't know what you don't know, and so you are not able to ask the correct questions when constructing prompts. You also have no idea whether the output is correct.

If you ask an AI model to prepare a document for you, it may look correct to the untrained eye. However, there are countless nuances in legal wording and drafting that if incorrect can have catastrophic consequences for you and your business. There may be significant information missing and the law quoted may not actually be correct or relevant for your specific needs. Our documents use industry-standard wording which takes into account your specific objectives.

Even if you were to use an AI model to figure out which documents you need, and to draft them for you, you would still need to manage the remainder of the transaction process: circulating the documents to the parties, dealing with proposed amendments, comments and questions, recirculating amended drafts, obtaining signatures and formalising completion of the matter. AI models cannot do this work effectively.

SeedLegals is a platform designed specifically for fundraising. Robolawyer handles fundraising, but we also offer a multitude of other matters that small businesses frequently require such as putting together agreements between founders, ensuring your website is compliant and drafting commercial contracts like the standard terms of your business.

However, to answer your question: the way their software is designed is fundamentally different to how Robolawyer is designed. We do not expect you to fill out endless forms and go away to do additional research in order to get started. Instead, we adopt a declarative approach where you state your goals in a clear and simple way by providing minimal information. Users tell us that the experience of using Robolawyer makes them feel confident that things have been done right, at the right price.

Our pricing models is also very different to theirs. SeedLegals charges an annual membership fee for ongoing access to their platform. Each additional piece of work you need to have done then attracts an extra one-off fee, which may be pegged to value of the investment that you are raising. For example, if you are raising £500k via SeedLegals you would be paying at least £5,000 + VAT on top of the annual membership fee of £999. By comparison, our equity investment matter is £2,400 + VAT regardless of the amount you are raising.

We can offer this as a separate service, which will also be on a fixed fee basis. This is something we can discuss in more detail during our initial consultation, as the price will vary depending on the exact type of support you need.

No. Robolawyer is a self-serve platform. We want you to see how easy it is to do it yourself so that next time you won't even consider asking someone else to run your deal for you.

You will be.

Thank you for your question! We'll get back to you soon. In the meantime, if you want to get in touch, feel free to send us an email with more details.
